LISTEN: Reflection for the 6th Sunday of Easter — Year C

In this week’s Gospel Jesus tells us that the Advocate/Spirit will be sent; the Spirit that will teach us everything and remind us of what he said to us.[/vc_column_text]

The Spirit, or the Paraclete, is another way that Jesus continues being present with the disciples. Notice how, in this weekend’s Gospel text from John, the Spirit’s role as teacher is emphasised. It is only after the departure of Jesus that the disciples, through the Spirit, would come to see and understand the message of Jesus fully.

Often, we find ourselves pondering the question: ‘what must I do?’

When we face tricky situations we wonder what the way forward might be.
