LISTEN: Reflection for the 2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time — Year A

In today’s readings, we are invited to recognise that we are called by God to be his servants. Last Sunday, we witnessed the baptism of Christ. This Sunday, John the Baptist testifies to seeing the spirit from heaven, in the form of a dove, descend upon Jesus.  This is an invitation to restore the humanity that is lost in our communities and our society and to restore peace between countries. Where challenges such as floods, fires and violence against women occur, we are called to offer safety.
