LISTEN: Reflection for the 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time — Year C

We all face challenges on a daily basis and we work hard at overcoming those challenges. This especially speaks to state in which our country is in today, where more and more people are losing hope because of all that is happening. The high rate of crime, the ever-increasing rate of unemployment, the environmental concerns, issues on migration and the economic stagnation. The amount of violence we see in schools and society is frightening. This generally causes us despair and a sense of giving up. The readings today give us hope in these times where despair threatens to overwhelm us.
