Not everyone is in a position to be able to go away to make a residential retreat. However you can still experience an individually guided prayer experience in the midst of your daily life. Prayer Guides trained and supervised by the Jesuit Institute are equipped to help you deepen your relationship with God in Weeks of Guided Prayer or Encounter with God retreats. A Week of Guided Prayer involves setting aside time each day (about 30 mins) and another 30 mins to meet daily at the same time one to one with a prayer guide. He or she will listen to you and give suggestions for your prayer for the next day which are tailored to your own needs at this time in your life. An Encounter with God retreat operates along the same lines but instead of meeting every day for a week you would meet with your prayer guide once a week over five or six weeks. These retreats in daily life also involve a group introductory and closing session which mark the beginning and end of the retreat. Please make direct contact with the co-ordinator of the Weeks of Guided Prayer or Encounter with God where the dates and venue suit you best. You are welcome to attend at any church regardless of denomination.
