Weekly Reflection from CPLO and the Jesuit Institute Week of 31 July 2017

by Frances Correia

31 July  – Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola

Love is shown more in deeds than in words” (St Ignatius Loyola)

St Ignatius’ view of the world is of a place infused with divine love. At every moment, in every aspect of our life, our work, our recreation, our relationships, God is present. In each day, we are invited to notice how God has been at work in us. In each action, we are invited to ponder what does God wants me to do? We are invited into friendship with the Lord, and to collaborate with him in building God’s Kingdom.

Lord teach me to be generous,

Teach me to serve you as you deserve,

To give and not to count the cost,

To fight and not to heed the wounds,

To toil and not to seek for rest,

To labour and to ask for no reward

Except knowing that I am doing your will.

(Prayer of St Ignatius of Loyola)
