‘Childhood should be carefree, playing in the sun; not living a nightmare in the darkness of the soul’ – Dave Pelzer, A Child Called “It”
Our nation needs a mother. A mother who will take us out of this current crises. A mother who will hold her children’s hands during this difficult period. A mother who will help us to be the best that we can be. Where is she?
As some of us celebrated our mothers this weekend we were shocked by the news of mothers who lost their own children.
At a time when we are thanking God for the gift of mothers of this world we should remind ourselves that the world needs fathers too. Fathers to show our boy children how they should be treating girl children. With respect, dignity and love.
Lord
We thank you for the gift of our mothers
Help us to be strong as we stand and watch as our women and children are treated with disdain
Give us the courage to stand up for what is right
And to always show your love in the way we treat others
Amen
