Love, love changes everything
Hands and faces, earth and sky
Love, love changes everything
How you live and how you die
Love, can make the summer fly
Or a night seem like a lifetime
Yes love, love changes everything
Now I tremble at your name
Nothing in the world will ever be the same

The words of this song written by Charles Hart and Don Black, composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber for the 1989 musical ‘Aspects of Love’, flooded into my mind as I considered the Gospel for this Sunday.

In John’s Gospel we hear much about the glory of God. That God is glorified in God’s own son, Jesus; as Jesus is glorified in God the Father. Today’s Gospel really shows us the heart of the Johannine community and what they were encouraged to live as they remember the life they shared with Jesus while he lived among them…
