If you have ever asked yourself this question (or haven’t and should have!) then the Christian Life Community (CLC) might just be the place for you. In CLC, using the gift of Ignatian Spirituality, we seek to find God in all things, particularly the situations, the challenges and the opportunities of our everyday lives. Recognising where God is working with us and inviting us to go in our lives, we meet together in small groups to support and encourage one another discerning the ways in which we might express God’s invitation to each one of us. CLC is currently exploring challenges in the field of Education and how best we may respond to these.
There are several groups that meet in Cape Town, some comprising students only, some a combination of students and older adults, and some older groups. CLC also flourishes in the Eastern Cape and in Gauteng with groups in Port Elizabeth, East London and Johannesburg. It looks as though there may be new groups forming in Mthatha. Most groups meet once a week for an hour and a half or two hours. Ideally, a group may have six to eight members but may be smaller or larger, depending on circumstances. Most members of CLC are Catholic but we have a few who are not.
