Lenten Prayer Reflections by Ron Boudreaux SJ

“When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice.”(Oklahoma Cherokee Saying)

The great gift of life is just one among many things that God has given us for our journey.  Some things will be more significant than others, but each of them must be used to help us praise, reverence, and serve God.  Likewise, there are many things in life we want, but do not need.  Let us be mindful that all created things have a good purpose, but can be used for the contrary.  May our lives give the world reason to rejoice because we have used well all the things that have come across our paths.  And let us teach those who come after us to properly use the things God gives us.

God, great Giver of Gifts, teach me to truly value the life and the instruments you have given me to do good.

May my use of things give glory to you.
